UPCOMING IN THE G A L L E R Y 2016

NOVEMBER 10TH- EMOTIONAL RESCUE- SOLO EXHIBITION BY loveMKM

A collection of MK’s angels, demons, loves, fears, highs and lows recorded over a time period of two years, using multiple mediums, with no common connection except one thing: MK, just a regular woman using creativity as way to understand and love herself more, alchemizing her dark night of the soul into light. Art is a form of self-expression and in MK’s case it most certainly is true, as her journey is spilled out, feelings translated in abstract art, in any way she could get them out. Glitter, neon, crayons, tee shirt ink, magazine editorials, self- portraits are just a few of the mediums utilized to form this “emotional” collection for her debut solo show.

JUNE 24TH • STAMP MANIFEST

Curated by Renzo Ortega . A political print show.

MAY 15TH • SPEAKING IN COLOR • Artwork of Randy Adelaide Chalom

Randy is a 12 year old girl who was diagnosed with autism at age two. At that time Randy was a fully functioning toddler, with a vocabulary of over 90 words, able to sing her ABC’s and “Twinkle twinkle little star” and play with her friends. From that point forward Randy “lost” her words, becoming completely non-verbal, and retreated into a world without socialization or communication of any kind. Uninterested in the things her peers enjoyed – sports, games, television, each other – Randy nevertheless always showed an interest in art, and her childhood drawings showed her early skills. At 11 she picked up a paintbrush and applied it to a canvas for the first time, opening up a world that has brought a smile to her face ever since. Randy paints with an energy she doesn’t apply to anything else in life.
